Passion Takes Flight

September 26, 2012

We’ve already talked about our inspiration behind designing an Angry Birds wedding shoot here, and that the shoot was featured internationally by Kat from Rock ‘n Roll Bride in the UK .. but today we want to share some of our favorites from this colorful, feathery shoot. The outcome of this wedding inspiration shoot proves that you can take inspiration for your wedding from almost anything, and still make it classy and uniquely you. We took a cartoonish subject that is very popular, and transformed it into a classy, elegant affair while keeping the basic elements and textures prominent.

A gorgeous crown from If the Crown Fits was the perfect addition for this shoot .. so elegant and classy!

Instead of flower petals, our flower girl carried a bird’s nest of feathers.

We’ve worked with Austin before, and he and Maggie did an amazing job together for this shoot …

Bold, primary colors were prominently featured, like these purple tights paired with yellow heels, and this makeup on lovely Ann by the talented Michelle Clark

Michelle Duncan from Embellished Blooms did a perfect job capturing the feathery, organic feel we were going for in the floral bouquets, with some bold pops of color.

Large statement pieces of jewelry from Oh So Curio and the feathery headpieces from Petals by KC worked perfectly with our theme …

This shot right here? One of our absolute favorites from the day! We love the way the sunlight is streaming in and illuminating this amazing cake by Lynn of Linacucina. The separate cake tiers atop glass and castle stone and the bird’s nest with golden eggs cake topper made for a very unique display.

Aren’t these little slingshot pens the cutest?

Heart shaped bird seed treats served as guest favors …

I know it’s a southern thing y’all, but we thought that slow cooked pork barbecue was also the fitting finish to those mean piggies … don’t you agree?

We were enamored with our flower girl Lauren, who happened to be the niece of our ‘bridesmaid’ Ann … what a cutie! She totally stole the show :) Thanks so much Ann, for bringing her along!

The only time the Angry Birds characters made an appearance, in these delectable cake pops designed by Anne at Raleigh Cake Pops. They really do make the best cake pops we’ve ever eaten and are so creative and pretty!

Our talented team of vendors, and much love to all of you! We couldn’t have done this without you! :)
