Everyone has fallen in love with Pinterest, right? It’s already starting to replace wedding planning scrapbooks, folders of images on your computer, or online bookmarks that you never can remember what they are by looking at the text link when you’re planning your wedding.

For those of you who haven’t gotten the news yet, Pinterest is a visual way to keep track of and curate the things that you love online. You can organize your ‘pins’ (basically, a saved bookmark) into boards to keep track of and organize them. Then later, when you’re trying to remember that oh-so-cool photo that inspired you, you can just scroll through your board and easily find it by photo reference.

One way that we’re using Pinterest effectively in our business this year is setting up a Pinterest board for each one of our 2012 bride and grooms. We just label it with their name, and add them as contributors on the board. Now both the couple, and Anna and I can pin things to this board to future reference in engagement and wedding photos. If the couple sees something cool that they want to try in an engagement shoot, or a certain look for their wedding they can easily pin it to our collaborative Pinterest board for future reference.

What are some ways that you’re using Pinterest in your photography or wedding related business this year? We’d love to hear your ideas in the comments! Oh, and be sure to check out and follow our own Pinterest boards! If you need an invite to Pinterest let us know, and we’ll email you one.
