Magical Mystery Tour: Scott & Anna

“There’s nothing you can do that can’t be done. Nothing you can sing that can’t be sung.
All You Need Is Love.” – All You Need is Love, from the Beatles Magical Mystery Tour

“I love you,” he said as he squeezed her hand. After a long hike through the mountainous dunes of Jockey’s Ridge, Scott had it all planned out … how he was going to ask Anna to marry him, that is. A beach bag packed with a towel, a trek to a high dune, and one romantic evening overlooking Shallowbag Bay. Love rarely happens according to plans though, and in the end Scott had to improvise to keep Anna from finding the ring prematurely. The reality was, he was so excited he could hardly contain himself anymore, and in a moment of opportunity while Anna had her back towards him he snatched the ring box and dropped to one knee. When Anna turned around again, he looked into the blue eyes that he first fell in love with – and he asked her to become his wife.

How could she not say yes? “Ask me a second time, just so I can say yes again!” she said to Scott, laughing.

Scott and Anna are the kind of couple that are always up for an adventure. So when they asked us to join them for the weekend at Anna’s parents beach house at the Outer Banks as part of their engagement session, we were more than happy to oblige – especially since the beach is one of our favorite places as well. Over the course of two days and two road trips, we got to know them even better, and embarked on one of the most varied engagement shoots we’ve done so far. We played with snow, sand, Christmas lights, and of course Cooper – their loveable golden lab (Anna’s still begging Scott for way to include him in their wedding!) We found out they like the Beatles (like us!) and we jokingly referred to the whole shoot as the Magical Mystery Tour, since we had so many different environments to photograph them in over the weekend.

Anna and Scott started the shoot a bit nervous (no idea why, because these two are absolutely beautiful together!) – but 5 minutes in and we had them completely relaxed and were capturing front-cover-of-the-magazine photos like this one. C’mon guys – seriously? You two are so hot!

Ooh yes. Go ahead and make out a bit – we give you permission ;-)

It’s very easy to get Anna and Scott laughing. In fact, they’re pretty much always happy people. I think it might be pretty hard to ever get mad while you’re around them.

Well, hello there lovelies …

Uh, you two look a-mazing here! And the colors of the sun setting out over the water is like some kind of dreamy fairytale.

Anna had collaborated with us on Pinterest about a lot of different ideas for their shoot beforehand – one of which was playing with some snow. It wasn’t real .. it wasn’t quite THAT cold .. but don’t tell anyone and it’ll be our little secret, ok?

Oh go ahead, kiss her!

We had a first on this engagement shoot … we’ve never actually played with Christmas lights or night time engagement photography .. but were inspired from some Pinterest collaborations to do this. I do have to say – these are some incredible unique photos and some of my favorites from the entire shoot ..

The town of Manteo was having their Christmas tree lighting celebration – so after we got done playing with lights we headed out to town to get some photos in the decorated town.

Hot, hot, hot. So hot.

Anna and Scott don’t even have to pose – their love for each other is just so natural and easy for them that it created great photos frame after frame.

The next day was bright and sunny, and we started out with the photos that Anna really wanted to have … with their beloved lab Cooper.

Seriously look at that face! Cooper made almost every shot more endearing.

I love how in this photo Cooper looks like he’s just trying to ignore their little lovey-dovey session!

Aww! Doesn’t that make you want to give him a big smoochy too?

Another idea that Anna had, was to have heart shaped marshmallows in hot chocolate .. we had some fun with this ..

LOVE these photos .. and Anna, you have beautiful eyes :)

For the last photos, we headed to Nags Head for some wintery beach photos. The beach was almost completely empty, which brought such an intimate feel to the photos we got there.

You guys are so adorable in this photo. Seriously …

Ok, I LOVE this one .. the wind was making Anna’s hair look fabulous .. and the two of them look so in love.

Yep, June 8, 2012 – that’s the date when Anna and Scott will be getting married at the lovely Pavilions at the Angus Barn in Raleigh! I know their wedding is going to be absolutely beautiful and perfect – just like the two of them are for each other :)

Anna and Scott – we had SO MUCH FUN road tripping and hanging out with y’all this past weekend .. and getting to meet your lovely parents, and staying at the beach, and everything else. We feel like we know you so much better, and can call you our BFFs and not just clients :) Here’s a little video from our fun this past weekend for you both.

Hugs from us both, Brent & Anna
