Sometimes, I’m a Horrible Blogger

My goal is to blog frequently .. that usually being five days a week. Somedays, my mind is just blank and I can’t think of anything to blog about – like today. Here it is, noontime, and I’m just now writing a blog post. And the subject is .. how I should be a better blogger. That’s sad.

On a good blogging day, this is how blogging should work (for optimal results):

  1. The blog post is prepared the day before, or several days before.
  2. The above mentioned blog post is published automagically on schedule at 9am, while I’m still wandering around the house looking for more coffee … not wracking my brain about what to write about.
  3. Tweets and Facebook updates go out automatically about the blog post while I sit back happily working on other things and watching the blog comments and twitter responses accumulate (now I feel really popular).
  4. By the days end, my blog post for the next day is already ready and queued up. If I’m really on track, I’ve got a week queued up and on schedule already.

Here’s how it usually works.

  1. I wake up, realizing I’ve done nothing to blog for the day.
  2. I sit in my PJs slurping coffee and trying to think of what to post that would be entertaining (and useful) for people to read.
  3. Since I’m already behind, I forego getting around for the day (hey, I work at home) and spend an hour or two longer in my PJs storyboarding and writing things to blog.
  4. By noontime, and past the prime window for posting – I’ve finally got something I post.
  5. Not as many people comment, and I feel less popular. Yay!
  6. The next morning, I repeat.

The fact is – sometimes I’m on track with my ideals for blogging, and sometimes not. But, I have a goal to work towards. There’s always room to grow and get better, and I’m far from admitting that I’ve already arrived. If I was always perfect in my blogging, how would I ever have come up with this entertaining post for y’all to read? I mean c’mon – you gotta admit that you’re probably sitting there giggling behind your hand at the thought of me frantically trying to put together a blog post in my PJs, right?

Oh – and today Alexandra at Heart Love Weddings is featuring us on her Vendor Spotlight as well … so head on over there and give her some major hugs and loves for talking about us so nice. :) It gives us lots of warm fuzzies when we hear other people gush over what we do … thanks so much!

P.S. Do you blog in your pajamas? C’mon – just admit it if you do.
